Paul’s Mall opens.

(May) Operated by Harold Buchhalter and Paul Vallon, the rock and comedy club is located in the basement of their jazz nightclub at 733 Boylston Street. Performers include Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffet, George Carlin, Barry Manilow, Bob Marley, Patti Smith, and Lily Tomlin. The club is purchased by Peter Lane, Tony Mauriello and Fred Taylor in 1966, and closes on April 9, 1978.
